The library with an unusual orientation was opened in St. Petersburg, on Dostoevskogo St. 34. The main theme of the materials presented in the "Feminoteka" is feminism.
The library catalog includes more than 120 publications, 110 independently published journals, approximately 50 copies of magazines and Newspapers. Basically, they provide information and describe gender-sensitive research, women's organizations, fashion, anarchism, cultural studies. Some instances are presented in three languages – English, Russian and German. Given this diversity and novelty of ideas, every woman can find something to taste.
The idea of creating a library on-site "Open space" belongs to the artist Alexandra Zubitskoi and activist Emma Aal. The organizers welcome help from citizens in the form of sacrifice of the new books, they also created a wish list for the planned catalogue.
On Dostoevskogo St. the library works only on Wednesdays from 19:00 to 21:00.
